Hmm, good 'ol Premo, perhaps the greatest hip-hop dj/producer of allllll time. I don't know what was happening to me at the time, a lot of drawing from the head, lot of energy. This was the first assignment I did for my humor/caricature class at the beginning of my third and final year at the JKS.

I failed to capture in later assignments what I did in this one, and I still use it in my portfolio. Wild Style for sure, this one was a long time coming. Anyway, everything is ink/wash except for the puffy coat (which took the longest of any part of this piece) which was done in black and white acrylic paint. Sure some of the lines could have been in tone, a mistake from my past: an over-reliance on line. Still, I like, almost exactly as I'd envisioned
